Intermountain Health Cardiac Device Technician in Wheat Ridge, Colorado
Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing clinical, educational, research and administrative support for the implantable device program. The position coordinates the interrogation of the implantable devices which includes device data that is acquired during onsite device interrogation as well as data that a patient may submit from home to an Internet housed database. The role includes a research component for ongoing studies and maintenance of several databases. The role also serves to educate fellows, NP/PAs, and other staff on the utility of implantable devices, the intricacies of the interrogated device data, and the role these devices play in the management of arrhythmia patients.

Scope
As a Cardiac Device Tech you need to know how to:
Greet and screen patients, obtain proper consents.
Clean and prepare patient care areas
Independently interrogate patient devices scheduled within the device clinic during office hours
Problem solve and then reprogram device as directed with Physician/NP/PA supervision/direction for implanted cardiac devices
Input patient and device information for new implants along with updating current information
Monitor patients enrolled in various monitoring programs. Routinely review submissions by the patient and review with physician if needed
Oversee and perform remote monitoring with selected patients on a routine basis
Document in the Specialized Clinics flow sheet within HER or remote monitoring site, using the assigned physicians standard and routes to physician to review/interpret
Input patient and device information for new implants along with updating current information- Create procedure notes for physician review and sign off
Maintain standards for IAC certification and the Health Care Facility LicenseQualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification, required within four (4) years of hire
Certified Rhythm Analysis Tech (CRAT) credential/certification required within 2 years of hire
One (1) year experience in cardiology, either in a clinic or hospital setting OR a current and unrevoked Cardiac Device Technology Certification from a recognized device training school, required
Experience reviewing and managing remote device transmission (Ex: Carelink, Latitutde and Merlin), required OR Cardiovascular technologist or EP lab technologist holding minimum of RCES, RCIS credential.
Proven ability and verifiable experience with cardiac devices
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree is highly preferred
Minimum of one (1) current/valid certification from the following list, preferred
Registered Nurse (RN)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP)
Physical Requirements:
Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
