Intermountain Health Outpatient Pediatric Dietitian in Taylorsville, Utah

Job Description:

This position facilitates the nutrition care process with a moderate degree of autonomy, using experience-based knowledge, nutrition assessment, and diagnostic reasoning skills and competencies.

  • $2500 Sign on Bonus

  • Shift: Monday-Friday day time shifts . Position is at PCH-Eccles and Wasatch Canyons

  • Full Time 40 hrs/weekly

  • This position will work primarily with Adolescent population including disordered eating. This role will also assist in coverage of various clinics including all pediatric age ranges and various general and complex conditions

Job Essentials

  • Completes and documents specialized nutrition assessment.

  • Completes and documents nutrition diagnosis in the specialty area.

  • Identifies and implements appropriate nutrition interventions including quality nutrition education based on customer needs, expectations, and culture.

  • Monitors and evaluates individual patient nutrition outcomes related to nutrition diagnosis, goals, and interventions in the specialty area.

  • Communicates nutrition expertise with all appropriate healthcare providers.

  • Uses resources effectively and efficiently in practice.

  • Mentors staff and students.

  • Participates in department continuous quality improvement projects, strategic plans, and initiatives.

  • Works with a moderate degree of professional autonomy and independent practice using diagnostic reasoning skills.

  • Applies research to improve patient outcomes.

Note: If employee is hired without being a Certified Dietitian (or Licensed Dietitian if working in Idaho), they must become certified or licensed within two months of hire to remain in the job.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or nutrition related field. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

  • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

  • Food handler's permit (as required by facility)

  • 2,000 hours of experience and credentialed specialty certification such as CSG, CSO, CSSD, CNSC, CSP, CSR, CDE, CSOWM. (Note that 'Certificates of Training' do not meet this requirement).

  • 4,000 hours of work experience in specialty area,

  • Successful completion of an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) program.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.

  • Certified Dietitian (State of Utah) or Licensed Dietitian (State of Idaho) obtained within two months of hire (see note above).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or specialty area. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with patients and co-workers requiring the employee to verbally communicate information, as well as understand spoken information.

  • See and read labels, monitors, and documents.

  • Operate computers and other equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$27.60 - $42.57
