Job Description

Intermountain Healthcare is seeking talented graduate students to join our internal consultancy, the Enterprise Initiative Office. The Office was authorized by the Executive Leadership Team in 2017 and designed to drive critical system initiatives supporting our healthcare transformation.

The Enterprise Initiative intern will participate in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department/organization. The Enterprise Initiative intern will report to the EIO VP, and will be supervised by the appropriate Enterprise Initiative Office staff. As a Consultant intern, you’ll receive regular feedback and mentoring from colleagues on your team, along with guidance and support to ensure you are continuously growing your skillset and building your network.

Potential projects will involve many different services, departments, and functions across the organization such as clinical and non-clinical operations, quality and patient safety, strategy, and business development.

Essential Job Duties

1) Support highly engaged and high-functioning teams that consistently deliver and/or exceed internal customer needs

2) Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, develop and communicate recommendations

3) Communicate with stakeholders and EIO team members with precision and clarity

4) Ensure completion and quality of project deliverables

5) Perform specifically defined tasks to support system initiatives

Minimum Requirements

  • Current graduate student enrolled in and progressing through their education program in a related field of study
  • Comfortable in high-pressure, dynamic, demanding, and ambiguous work environments
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
  • Able to effectively articulate complex ideas both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrate a passion for continuous improvement, both personally and professionally
