Intermountain Healthcare Subrogation Coordinator/Senior in Murray, Utah

Job Description:

With some supervision, is responsible to pro-actively pursue SelectHealth's right of recovery in subrogation and third-party situations to maximize recovered dollars, determine the appropriate course of action in accidental, medical malpractice, and occupational injury claims, and negotiate resolutions.

Job Essentials

  1. Helps determine SelectHealth course of action on identified third-party claims to include primary or secondary coverage and ensure accurate claims recovery.

  2. Administers and communicates SelectHealth position regarding contract exclusions and subrogation provisions.

  3. Maintains a close working relationships with SelectHealth's internal operations staff and our legal team to ensure that SelectHealth is providing the most effective subrogation services.

  4. Analyzes, discusses, and negotiates with attorneys, insurance companies, and subscribers the resolution of liens to obtain maximum recovery of benefits paid in accordance with contract language.

  5. Responds to telephone and written inquiries from attorneys, insurance companies, providers, and subscribers regarding subrogation, Workers' Compensation, no-fault, and collection issues. Maintains documentation of individual cases opened.

Wage : $20.61/hour + depending on experience

Shift Details: Full Time; business hours

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business related field. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

OR/AND

Three years experience that includes the following: legal experience, insurance experience, investigation experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Professional Coder.

  • or -

Demonstrated good working knowledge of coding issues.

  • and -

Subrogation experience.

  • and -

Working knowledge of State and Federal subrogation laws and regulations.

  • and -

Self motivated individual who is able to plan work assignments and manage time effectively.

  • and -

Ability to exercise initiative and independently make decisions within the scope of assigned authority and to assume responsibility while operating with a minimum of supervision.

  • and -

Ability to meet established deadlines and be flexible in evaluating and managing priorities.

  • and -

Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate efficiency in working with high volume of cases and claims and keeping detailed records.

  • and -

Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, strong analytical ability, and organization and investigation skills.

  • and -

Ability to work well with individuals who do not report directly to him/her (e.g., coworkers, management, providers, etc.).

  • and -

Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • and -

Familiar with computers and willing to use the computer to review claims.

  • and -

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software including Excel, Word, and Access.

  • and -

Case Management experience.

  • and -

Working knowledge of plans offered by SelectHealth.
