Intermountain Health Associate Counsel - Real Estate and Strategic Transactions in Broomfield, Colorado

Job Description:

Under the direction of a senior attorney, the Associate Counsel will provide legal counsel on a variety of matters for Intermountain Health, its employees, and its subsidiaries, with a specific focus on real estate and strategic transactions.

This is an exempt, full-time position located in the Front Range of Colorado (Denver Metro area) and will allow the hired candidate to work in a remote capacity with potential travel into the Broomfield, CO office. As the Associate Counsel you will:

  • Support legal matters or projects within a legal team.

  • Work cooperatively and closely with their operational counterparts on legal and regulatory issues.

  • Identify, analyze and resolvelegal matters.

  • Read, write, analyze and interpret documents, contracts and instruments.

  • Support legal projectsunder the direction of a senior attorney.

  • Work directly with operational caregivers within an Intermountain business unit and develop an understanding of the business unit’s needs, products and services. Advises business unit on its policies and procedures.

  • Support senior attorneys’ evaluation of the legal impact of major decisions where applicable law, regulations, or facts of the matter are unclear, controversial or conflicting.

  • Be able to analyze situations and develop simple, concise, and effective legal solutions, and build a strong partnership with key stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate strong writing, legal research and communication skills.

  • Work with and coordinate on matters with outside counsel.

  • Develop, maintainexpertise, and actively use contract management software programs and other software applications available to the Legal Department.

Requirements

A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school is required. Education is verified.

License to practice law in a state where Intermountain is located or be willing to obtain such licensure within 12 months of hire date is required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders in an organization (management, senior attorneys, physicians, compliance, hospital administrators, etc.).

Experience with real estate transactions is highly preferred

Experience with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and other partnerships, highly preferred

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$52.46 - $96.21
