Intermountain Health Registered Nurse Clinical Team Development in Billings, Montana

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Scope

  • Develop and coach Medical Assistants (MAs) and Registered Nurses (RNs)

  • Develop MA and RN orientation and training materials. Maintain accountability with RN and Lead MA to accomplish orientation, education, and training of MA staff.

  • Coach providers, Nurses, and MAs on building trusting work relationships that maximize patient centered care.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the MA Scope of Practice.

  • Advocate for MA and Nurse clinical support roles as they pertain to primary care patient centered care.

  • Make quality improvement recommendations by observing workflows, studying, evaluating, and redesigning processes.

  • Execute MA role in pharmacy guidelines including vaccine administration process, controlled substances, CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) proficiency and general medication safety practices.

  • Identify, create, implement, and standardize necessary MA and nursing protocols.

  • Participate in clinic QI (Quality Improvement) meetings to support MA driven measures (for example, measures that rely on outreach) and actively participate in clinic process improvement projects that focus on the MA role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in state of practice

  • BLSs

  • Two years of nursing experience

  • Experience in Microsoft office and electronic medical record system

Preferred

  • At least three (3) years of clinical nursing experience

  • Primary care nursing experience

  • At least one (1) year of leadership/management experience, including process improvement and change management experience.

  • An ability to be flexible and adaptable in day-to-day job duties as the ambulatory Nurse and MA roles evolve.

  • An interest in self-motivation and self-learning

  • Proficient in advocating for MA and Nurse clinical support roles as they pertain to ambulatory care.

  • Ability to interact frequently with Clinic Manager, Practice Administrators, Executive Director of Operations and CDT RN Manager

  • Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours is required.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$32.84 - $58.35
