Intermountain Health Audiologist in American Fork, Utah

Job Description:

This position is a vestibular diagnostic postion including consultation, diagnostic evaluation and ongoing habilitative and rehabilitative treatment, services, and education to patients and their families.

Shift Details: The shift is either an 5 x 8 (8:30 to 5:00) or 4 x 10 (7:00 to 5:30). This will most likely be determined by the preference of who is hired.

Unit/Location: American Fork ENT/Audiology, Utah Valley Audiology, abd Spanish Fork Audiology

Additional Details: The audiology job duties will be quite broad as it will include basic audiology in an ENT setting, electrophysiologic testing for newborns and others and vestibular diagnostic testing.

  • American Fork ENT/Audiology: This is a busy ENT office where the traditional mix of ENT ordered procedures are performed as well as occasional newborn ABR testing and significant hearing aid services.

  • Utah Valley Audiology: This location does not presently have an on-site ENT, so the referral sources are more mixed between primary care and local ENT's and more. The procedure mix is still much the same as the American Fork office, but includes vestibular diagnostics including VNG, vHIT, Posturography and ECochG. A willingness to perform vestibular testing is a must.

Job Essentials

Provides screening, diagnostic assessments, habilitative, and rehabilitative audiological services to all populations from pediatric to geriatric patients.

Documents all services and patient interactions according to current policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Provides education to patients and families concerning results of services provided. Provides recommendations for continued care.

Participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Participates in program development and marketing, as assigned.

Ensures financial viability of department through following established documentation and billing guidelines.

May mentor new staff and students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Audiology. Education must be obtained from an accredited program. Degree will be verified.

  • Licensure by the state in which hired to practice Audiology.

  • Basic Life Support Ceritification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology.

  • Background in vestibular diagnostic testing.

  • Background in specialized area as specified in a medical setting.

Physical Requirements:

Hearing/listening, manual dexterity, seeing, sitting, speaking, standing, lifting, pulling/pushing, and walking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$40.41 - $62.34
